Food that cause stomach bloating

I mentioned in a recent post that your protruded stomach or abdomen may not be as a result of too much fat — it could be due to bloating. I talked about how you can find out if what you have is a bloated stomach in that post too.You can still check it out by clicking the link above if you missed it then. What we will be discussing here are the food and other causes of bloating as well as the tips you can make use of to getting rid of a bloating.

What are the causes of Bloating?

Like I mentioned in the article that I linked to above, bloating could be caused by several factors and you may want to check with your doctor to find out what the cause really is. If it is not caused by a chronic heart or liver condition, it is probably due to the following factors;

Eating too fastUsing straw to suck drinks which sucks in gas with itOvarian cancerWeight gainOvergrowth of bacteria in the small bowelMenstruationfluid in the abdominal cavity (ascites) as a result of cancer, liver disease, kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and other disorde

Task force cleared Oshodi

Taskforce clears Oshodi, arrests 223 miscreants

The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) on Sunday, raided some black spots at the famous Oshodi area of the state, arresting 223 suspected miscreants.

The taskforce officials also removed illegal structures erected by recalcitrant street hawkers and roadside traders around the Oshodi market.

According to the Chairman of the unit, SP Olubukola Abe, the raid is a follow up to the sensitisation visit officials of the taskforce paid to the market a week back as well as the stakeholders meeting organised by the unit to warn and advice all street hawkers and traders to desist from carrying out their illegal activities around the market.

He further said that most of the suspected miscreants were arrested between 2:00 am and 4:00 am on the Oshodi bridge between Anthony and Charity bus stops which further served as an indictment against them.

Among those arrested were nine children, 189 adults and five women.

But of utmost concern is the case of the young children who were out on the roads at ungodly hours.

To this, Abe would like parents and guardians to take better care of their children so as to prevent them from being used as tools by criminals.

On the removal of shanties and extensions, the chairman said the state government had no choice but to enforce the "zero tolerance" for street trading rules since the traders had remained recalcitrant.

He said the taskforce would not fold its arms while such illegalities continued.

Abe therefore warned that the exercise would be extended to other noticeable part of the state where this particular act is being perpetuated while Oshodi will be sustained.

He said all suspects would be thoroughly screened and that only those found wanting would be charged before the court of law.

💐💝I CARE FOR YOU......

💐Nothing in life is worth fighting for.
Your best clothes is someone's rag.
Your account balance is someone's donation at a function.
Your girl friend/boy friend or fiance/fiancee' is someone's Ex.
Every single prostitute you see in a hotel or on the street at night was at some point in time a virgin.
So what is the squabble all about?

💐Life is too small to feel bigger or better than anybody.
We're all naked to death says Steve Jobs.
Nothing can save us from it.
I hate to see people who brag about wealth, beauty, intelligence, level of education, fame and material possessions.
There's nothing you've achieved in life that no one else has never gotten.

💐There's ONLY ONE THING that is worth bragging about; which is, "BELIEVE  IN GOD ALMIGHTY".
SO BE GOOD TO YOUR FELLOW MEN AND ALWAYS MAKE FRIENDS.

💐Always remember that the people you trampled upon on your way up a ladder; will be the same set of people you're likely to pass on your way down, so cause no problem for others.
If you do, they'll become your very problem one day.
💐Finally, even banana stems will one day become dry leaves.
Please don't be selfish, pass on to friends as we're all in one way or the other guilty.

💐If one day you feel like crying, call me.
I don't promise to make you laugh but I can cry with you.
If one day you want to run away don't be afraid to call me.
I promise to be there running beside you.
But if one day you call me and there's no answer, come to me, perhaps I need you.

💝      * * * ,,  * * *
          * I cARe foR *
           *.    YOu   *
                "* ,, *"

💐One day, one of us will not be here and then it'll be too late to say I care.
Tears may flow, but I will be long gone.
So, forward to everyone you care for; I just did!
Send to your best friends no matter how often you talk or how close you are.
Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them and new friends know you never will.

💐Send to me too if I am your friend.
Have GoooOOD day!!!!

6 books you must read by Bill Gates

6 Books Bill Gates'll Recommend for you

If you're looking for something to read this summer, I'd recommend any of the books below. I read them all earlier this year and think each one is terrific. Only one, The Rosie Project, qualifies as a typical beach read. But all six are deeply informative and beautifully written.

Business Adventures, by John Brooks.

Warren Buffett recommended this book to me back in 1991, and it's still the best business book I've ever read. Even though Brooks wrote more than four decades ago, he offers sharp insights into timeless fundamentals of business, like the challenge of building a large organization, hiring people with the right skills, and listening to customers' feedback. He is also a masterful storyteller, peppering his articles with compelling portraits of everyone from General Electric executives to the founder of Piggly Wiggly groceries. His article on the fate of the Ford Motor Company's Edsel is a classic. Business Adventures is out of print in hardcover and paperback, but you can now buy it in e-book form. I wish all business writing were half as good.

Stress Test, by Timothy F. Geithner.

The central irony of Stress Test is that a guy who was accused of being a lousy communicator as U.S. Treasury Secretary has penned a book that is such a good read. Geithner paints a compelling human portrait of what it was like to be fighting a global financial meltdown while at the same time fighting critics inside and outside the Administration as well as his own severe guilt over his near-total absence from his family. The politics of fighting financial crises will always be ugly. But it helps if the public knows a little more about the subject—what's at stake, what the options are, what has worked in similar situations—so that the loud talkers resonate a bit less and the knowledgeable ones a bit more. If Stress Testcontinues to attract lay readers, it could make at least a modest difference the next time around.

The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism,by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

I read a lot about Teddy Roosevelt last year, around the time Melinda and I took our kids to the Panama Canal. He was instrumental in getting the canal built, and I'd assumed it was the highlight of his career. But it wasn't. It's a testament to the breadth and depth of Roosevelt's accomplishments that the canal warrants only a handful of mentions in this biography. There's just too much other fascinating material competing for space, from Roosevelt's relationship with the press and his friendship with William Howard Taft (who was brilliant in his own right) to his efforts to fight corruption and reform the political system.

I'm especially interested in the central question that Goodwin raises: How does social change happen? Can it be driven by a single inspirational leader, or do other factors have to lay the groundwork first? Sometimes a single leader can make a big difference: In the field of global health, Jim Grant almost singlehandedly created a global constituency for children, sparking a movement to double vaccination rates and save millions of lives. But Roosevelt's case was different. Although he tried to push through a number of political reforms earlier in his career, he wasn't really successful until journalists atMcClure's and other publications had rallied public support for change.

I loved Goodwin's Team of Rivals and highly recommend this one too.

The Rosie Project: A Novel, by Graeme Simsion.

Melinda picked up this novel earlier this year, and she loved it so much that she kept stopping to read passages to me. I started it myself at 11 p.m. one Saturday and stayed up with it until 3 the next morning. Anyone who occasionally gets overly logical will identify with the hero, a genetics professor with Asperger's Syndrome who goes looking for a wife. (Melinda thought I would appreciate the parts where he's a little too obsessed with optimizing his schedule. She was right.) It's a funny and profound book about being comfortable with who you are and what you're good at. I'm sending copies to several friends and hope to re-read it later this year. It is one of the most enjoyable novels I've read in a long time.

The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History, by Elizabeth Kolbert.

Climate change is a big problem—one of the biggest we'll face this century—but it's not the only environmental concern on the horizon. Humans are putting down massive amounts of pavement, moving species around the planet, over-fishing and acidifying the oceans, changing the chemical composition of rivers, and more. Natural scientists posit that there have been five extinction events in the Earth's history (think of the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs), and Kolbert makes a compelling case that human activity is leading to the sixth. Unlike a lot of people who write about the environment, Kolbert doesn't resort to hype. She just lays out the facts and wraps them in memorable anecdotes. It's a sobering but engaging and informative read.

Reinventing American Health Care: How the Affordable Care Act Will Improve Our Terribly Complex, Blatantly Unjust, Outrageously Expensive, Grossly Inefficient, Error Prone System, by Ezekiel J. Emanuel.

One of the architects of the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) makes the case for why the U.S. health care system needed reform and how Obamacare sets out to fix the problems. Although he was deeply involved in its creation, Emanuel is good about making it clear when he's educating you about the history of health care and when he's advocating for his ideas. He calls out a few things he disagreed with in Obamacare, like the creation of a separate health-insurance exchange for small businesses. And unlike a lot of experts, he's willing to make predictions about how health care will change in the coming years. Some day we'll be able to look back and see whether he was right. The facts and history that Emanuel lays out would be useful to anyone involved in the debate over health care, no matter what their point of view is.

Boko Haram again......

Boko Haram raids Borno village, kills seven, loots grains, carts away livestocks

On Monday, Boko Haram extremists raided a village in Borno state near the border with Niger, killing 7 people, community leaders said. Dozens of gunmen stormed Awonori, a farming and herding village near the fishing town of Damasak, and carted away food supplies and livestock, they said.

"They killed seven people, looted grains and took away all the livestocks in the village before fleeing into the bush," Muhammadu Modu Wan-Wan, head of the Damasak fishermen's union.

"The gunmen who came in vans and on motorcycles around 7:00 am (0600 GMT) besieged the village and opened fire on residents as they were having breakfast before moving to their farms," he said.

Wan-Wan said the attack forced the villagers to flee but they returned after the assailants had left. Abubakar Gamandi, the head of Borno's fishermen's union, confirmed the attack.

"I received report from my members in the Damasak area that Boko Haram gunmen attacked Awonori village this morning where they killed seven people and took away food and livestocks," he said.

Last month, residents of Damasak and surrounding villages fled their homes and crossed the border into the Niger town of Diffa, fearing Boko Haram attacks. But Wan-Wan said many residents have returned to their farms since then.
"People have no food to feed their families which is why they take the risk of going back to their villages to work on their farms now that the rainy season has started," he said.

Boko Haram, which is seeking to carve out a hardline Islamic state in northeast Nigeria, has killed some 15,000 people since 2009. A regional 8,700-strong force aimed at ending the insurgency is due to deploy within days.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday told a national security gathering in Abuja that his government would "employ at least an extra 10,000 police officers and establish a properly trained and equipped federal anti-terrorism multi-agency task force" to crush the rebellion.

Striking photo of newborn that goes viral

Striking photo of newborn lying next to mother's caesarean wound goes viral

More than 11 million people have viewed this picture on social media, but it has certainly divided opinion.
This striking photograph of a mother and baby taken just three days after being born by caesarean section has taken social media by storm.
Helen Aller, 29, took the black and white image of the woman and her newborn lying next to her wound.
The new mother, who does not wish to be identified, was terrified of having a C-section but wanted the picture to be taken as the operation had saved her and her baby.

The image touched a nerve around the world after Helen shared it online, and it has been seen 11.5 million times and liked by nearly 200,000 people.

Photographer Helen, from Guernsey, often takes photos of newborns and their mums, but said she wasn't prepared for the reaction her latest shot received.
She said: "I photographed this mama's pregnancy a while back and she was telling me how terrified she was of having a c-section.

"Last week she went into labour but had to have an emergency c-section after complications.
"She asked me to come over and shoot this particular image as her worst nightmare proved to be what saved her and her child's lives.
"My images usually get seen seen by 100 people at most so I never thought it would reach anywhere near what it has done.
"So far it has been seen by over 7.5 million people. I didn't expect this image to reach so far."
In the photo, the newborn - only three days old - is lying directly underneath his mother's scar from her emergency caesarean
