Happy Birthday Odunlade

A Yoruba movie super star Odunlade Adekola is a year older today.

He was born on 31 December 1978 at
Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State , southwestern Nigeria. He is, however, an indigine of Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State .

He attended St John's Primary School and St. Peter's College in Abeokuta, obtaining the West African School Certificate Examination before he proceeded to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where he received a diploma certificate.

Odunlade Adekola started acting at a very early age. According to him, whenever any anniversary was to hold in his church (the Christ Apostolic Church, Lafenwa, Abeokuta), he and a friend named Tunde would request to play jesters, and this request was always granted.

He would then write a "script" for a comedy play involving just two characters (him and his friend). That was how it all began for this professional actor, director and producer. Adekola has featured in more than 100 Yoruba

The Warrior's Wife

*THE WARRIOR WIFE*

The warrior wife knows marriage is difficult, particularly if you don't put the time & effort into building a strong foundation. It gets easier with time, but during the process of growing into mature, selfless spouses, marriage requires a will to fight for the union. Marriage is not for the weak-minded or soft-hearted. Marriage is for warriors. To be a Warrior-wife you must be willing to go to war for your marriage.

This doesn't mean you are paranoid about something going wrong. What it means is that you take proactive steps to strengthen the marriage bond & protect your family from negative influences. So, if & when trouble comes, your marriage will withstand hard times.

Here are 10 ways I believe wives can be warriors for their marriages & families.

*1. A PRAYER WARRIOR :* a wife who knows the power of prayer. She intercedes for her husband & children. She doesn't wait for hard times to pray; she prays in good times & in bad times. When her husband needs prayer, he asks his wife because he knows she has a deep relationship with God. Her prayers soothe and comfort her family. They rebuke evil and cast out negativity. They declare goodness & favor in their lives. Not only does she pray, but she also believes what she prays.

*2. A WORSHIP WARRIOR:* a wife who is not afraid to praise & worship God. She knows where her help comes from, & she expresses her gratefulness wherever & whenever the Spirit moves her. "Thank you, Lord," is her praise song.

*3. A WORD WARRIOR :* a wife who uses her words to speak life & wisdom to her husband & children. She knows how to encourage herself & her family in the Lord. Her words heal, comfort & correct with love. On the other hand, she doesn't hesitate to speak in defense of her family when others try to harm them. She knows her tongue is a mighty weapon, so she uses it wisely.

*4. A MOTHER WARRIOR :* A wife who doesn't play when it comes to her children. She teaches them about God, about respect for themselves & about the importance of family. A mother-warrior believes her role as a mother is a divine responsibility & that God will hold her accountable for how she rears her children. As such, she does whatever it takes to make sure her children feel safe & loved; are fed & clothed; & are educated properly

*5. A FINANCIAL WARRIOR :* a wife who can take a few francs & make a meal that tastes like a million bucks. She doesn't complain about what the family doesn't have; instead, she knows how to make do with what they do have. She plans for rainy days & helps her husband provide for the family.

*6. A DISCERNMENT WARRIOR :* a wife with a sixth sense to see & feel what's good & what's bad for the marriage. Because she prays regularly & hears from God, she can sense when someone has malicious intentions towards her family or when someone is a genuine friend.

*7. A HOUSEHOLD WARRIOR :* a wife who protects the peace & sanctity of the home. She doesn't allow negativity to infiltrate the home environment because she knows the home should be the safest place in the world for her family.

*8. A SEXUAL WARRIOR :* a wife who isn't afraid to enjoy physical intimacy with her husband. She initiates sex & enjoys pleasing her husband. When the love life goes lacking or gets monotonous, she steps up to re-energize things.

*9. A CONFIDENCE WARRIOR :* a wife who makes her man feel like he can do anything he sets his mind to. She is a constant encourager who believes in her husband even when he doesn't believe in himself.

*10. A PURPOSE DRIVEN WARRIOR :* a wife who knows that God has a purpose for her marriage. She's willing to fight for it when others say she should give up. She partners with her husband to achieve their marriage & family goals. Her motto is "Let's do this!"

I want to encourage you to embrace the warrior inside of you. As wives & future-wives, we don't have to accept whatever life throws at us. God made us in His image, which means we have the power to create the marriages & lives we deserve and desire. Every woman has a warrior spirit on the inside of her. That's why "a man who finds a good wife finds treasure".

Act better in 2017

As you prepare to launch your flight into 2017 please take time to reflect on 2016.
There are 2 types of people in 2017. Those who will find every reason not to act on opportunities. Their excuses? _'It's raining today'_, _'I don't have the connections'_, _''I can't do it…'_ _'This situation is worse than other people's'_

And those, who regardless of the season, always see the bright side of things.Their mindset?
_I have not failed... I've only succeeded in proving that those ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work'_

I call them the Isaac's Generation.

Gen 26 gives a very interesting account of series of events that happened to Isaac.

The first part told us there was great famine in the land. Later in the story we were told Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him. He became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. Oh wow! And there was famine still in the land? – Note the sequence: He acted first, then the LORD blessed him

Later in the chapter, _'He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him… So all the wells that his father's servants had dug in the time of his father Abraham, the Philistines stopped up, filling them with earth' - Ha-ha you see? That means the breakthrough of yesterday has led many to envy your progress…Some people would moan and blame others when negative things happen.  That's the easy way out. It's a good reason to call a pity-party. But what would that achieve?

Instead of calling a pity-party, Isaac moved to another area…But those haters still came to discourage him. He didn't stop. – Kept moving and digging wells…until he dug the one, named it Rehoboth, because no one contended with him anymore. That's the power of persistence!

2017 promises to be a year filled with several opportunitiesdistributed across its 365 days, but not without oppositions. The momentum has to be great. Don't let the discouragers stop you. Do your SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats).

Only the diligent will stand before Kings. Remember _whoever watches the wind will not plant, and whoever looks at the clouds will not reap_

You're blessed and highly favoured!

2 No friend like Him is so high and holy,
No, not one ! no, not one !
And yet no friend is so meek and lowly,
No, not one ! no, not one !

3 There's not an hour that He is not near us,
No, not one ! no, not one !
No night so dark but His love can cheer us,

No, not one ! no, not one !

No one like Jesus

My hope

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness ;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand ;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

2 When darkness hides His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the vail.

3 His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the 'whelming flood ;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

4 When He shall come with trumpet sound,
On ,may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne !

My Hope is built on nothing less than the blood of Jesus

My hope is built on nothing less

He is my comfort

I've found a friend in Jesus,— He's everything to me;
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul !
The "Lily of the Valley," in Him alone I see—
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole;
In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll:
He's the"Lily of the Valley," the "Bright and Morning Star";
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul !

In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll:
He's the "Lily of the Valley," the "Bright and Morning Star";
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul !

2 He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;
I've all for Him forsaken, I've all my idols torn
From my heart—and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and
Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.
He's the "Lily of the Valley," the
"Bright and Morning Star";
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul !

3 He'll never, never leave me nor yet
forsake me here,
While I live by faith, and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear:
With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
When crowned at last in glory, I'll
see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll.
His Names and Titles
He's the"Lily of the Valley," the
"Bright and Morning Star";
He's the fairest of ten thousand to
my soul !

How to check your current tarrif plan for all network

I'm very sure that 90% of the mobile phone users out there don't really know the tariff plan they are currently on. Unfortunately, all network providers usually place their subscribers on expensive tariff plans so as to maximize profit, and since you're innocent, you just notice that your credit is always not enough to make calls whenever you attempt, you have to always recharge your phone so as to make that call(s)

Do you really know you can talk for hours with little credit? this can be so when you are on an affordable call tariff plan.
For instance you might think you are on Mtn iPulse not knowing that you're on Mtn Better Talk. Being on the right call tariff plan is indeed beneficial to you. It's best you migrate to a call tariff plan that offers low call rates and charges.
This article would educate you on How To Check Your Current Tariff Plan (All Networks)

Be careful with your bank details

*BANK DETAILS' MADNESS.*
(always go to your bank personally).

NEW SCAM ALERT.
PLS HELP US SPREAD THIS FAST.
IT MAY SAVE OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES, SO RE-BROADCAST.

Please be aware that fraudsters have developed new software & devised a new means of defrauding people, as the former trick of sending an SMS telling you that your ATM has been deactivated due to system upgrade or BVN issues, is no longer working well for them because people are very aware of that trick now.

Their new trick now is to send you an email supposedly, to have been sent by your bank e-mail service informing you that you have been debited #2,000 as *subscription fee* for the bank's monthly digest magazine and the charge will continue every month *(and indeed, any info that you did not request or even requested).*
To unsubscribe and cancel that deduction monthly from your account, you should click here (a link is given there).

Once you click the link, it will open up a page where you will be asked to supply your bank details including ATM information.
That is now the info they need to enable them access and clear your account.

Please remember:
DO NOT REPLY SUCH E-MAIL.
DO NOT CLICK THE LINK TO CANCEL THE MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION.
JUST IGNORE OR DELETE THE MAIL.
YOUR ACCOUNT IS SAFE AND NOTHING WAS DEDUCTED FOR ANY MAGAZINE.

I've done well to alert you.
Do well to alert more people.
Above all, don't fall a victim.
It is a fresh and latest information from the security Agencies.

*Circulate please.*

This is so funny

During a robbery in Guangzhou, China, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: "Don't move. The money belongs to the State. Your life belongs to you."

Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called "Mind Changing Concept" Changing the conventional way of thinking.

When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her: "Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!"

This is called "Being Professional" Focus only on what you are trained to do!

When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA-trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): "Big brother, let's count how much we got."

The older robber rebutted and said: "You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!"

This is called "Experience." Nowadays, experience is more important than paper qualifications!

After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: "Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves and add it to the $70 million that we have previously embezzled from the bank".

This is called "Swim with the tide." Converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage!

The supervisor says: "It will be good if there is a robbery every month."

This is called "Killing Boredom." Personal Happiness is more important than your job.

The next day, the TV news reported that $100 million was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count $20 million. The robbers were very angry and complained: "We risked our lives and only took $20 million. The bank manager took $80 million with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!"

This is called "Knowledge is worth as much as gold!"

The bank manager was smiling and happy because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery.

This is called "Seizing the opportunity." Daring to take risks!

So who are the real robbers here?

HOW TO GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE!

FIRST, be prepared to know yourself better. A serious appraisal Of your life is essential to getting what you want. If you need To get to Pittsburgh by Friday, you've got to know where you're Starting from. A serious self-appraisal may take weeks to Complete. How well educated are you in the things you would like To know? How much effort do you put into each aspect of your life? What are your best and worst points? How do you choose your Friends, your home, your job and your hobbies? How do treat your friends, family and strangers? How deep is your personal Spirituality? You have hundreds and hundreds of special traits, but how well developed is each of them? Which of your traits are the worst? What have you accomplished over the past twenty, ten, five, two and in one year? In the past month? The past week? Today? Who have you hurt? Who deserves better than you've given them? And most important, how close are you now to where you hoped you'd be when you looked ahead a year ago, five years ago, or even as a child? Be prepared to cry a little as you make this appraisal of your life. Humans are far from perfect, and even the minor goals we set for ourselves are not achieved, and it can hurt to see exactly where you are. Draw upon every bit of serenity you have when making this appraisal, and always keep in mind you are on a Fact-finding, not faultfinding mission. Whether your Strengths match evenly with your weaknesses on paper is not Important. What you want is a written record of who and what you are in as great a depth as possible, a blueprint of your house which you can use as a base for improvement. Great people in every field start with such a deep analysis and revise it yearly to chart their progress, and the time and emotion spent in such an appraisal will be chicken feed compared to the value you will receive from it.

SECOND, make a special report based on your self-appraisal and include the report everything you ever did which you didn't think you could do. THIS ABSOLUTELY VITAL! It will provide you with enormous inspiration when faced with a problem you don't think you can overcome. These are not only real-life success stories, they are your success stories, positive proof that there's more in you than you might think. These experiences arethe batteries you'll use to power the shovels which will move mountains in the future. Remember, even an almost-dead battery will start a car. Have this report in writing and keep it with your personal analysis, and make a copy in case you lose it. This will be a vital document in times to come.

THIRD, decide where you want to go. Most people fail because they don't set goals worthy of themselves. If they do, they do not live each day in pursuit these goals. This, and every other step outlined here, is absolutely vital to a truly successful life. When you set your goals, make them better than you've done before, but make them achievable. In other words, if it is at all possible that you or someone like you could achieve thegoal, it is worthy. But don't set them too low either, or you'll be breezing through life, bored and unchallenged. Set goals for each day, for the next week, month, year, two years, five years, twenty years, fifty years (regardless of your age). Be definite about what you want. Write your goals down and use as much detail as possible. Make them firm... for the moment. You will find as you achieve certain things that some goals will have to change, and that's fine. Just don't go around changing your mind every time the wind changes or you won't know which way is up.

Set as many goals as you like, and include among them - what you'd like to be doing, where you'd like to go, what you want for your family, what kind of person you'd like to be, how much you'd like to be earning, your net worth, your health, personality, education and spiritual growth. Keep your daily goals confined to activities which will lead to accomplishment of your long-term goals. Don't be afraid to set goals. Mistakes can be corrected; doing nothing cannot be corrected. The next step takes no real effort, and strangely enough, it is the most difficult step for the average person to take.

FOURTH: COMMIT! Make the decision to achieve those goals, to strive for the things you want which will make your life and yourself all that much better. Make that commitment from the heart, not at the lips! It will take time to really feel that commitment, and regularly reviewing the goals you've written down will make it possible to truly feel that commitment. You'll go through agonies at first and wonder if any of this is really worth it, and that's the point most people give up. Remember this and you'll look forward to that agony. Every change comes with pain. It hurts to be born, to fall in love, to pass an exam, run a marathon. Once you start feeling that pain, know it for what it is - your old self-screaming for life. Let your old self-win and you lose! Once you pass through that barrier of pain between what you are and what you want, you will know what it is worth every bit of discomfort. You've been through it before, and you'll need the memory of past incidents where you've made it help you get through it. You'll need the support of others, too. So you'll have to consider the people with whom, you spend most of your time. If they are not as interested in improving themselves as you are, it's time to expand your circle of friends to include those people, and make them the best you could want. Make your friends inspiration to you in your quest for a better life.

The final step is so simple and so tough it literally separates the men from the boys who will never grow up. It means sacrificing immediate pleasure for real satisfaction down the road, so if you're not ready to make the trade, go back two paces.

FIFTH: Spend every moment of your life in the most effective, efficient way possible in the pursuit of your goals. You'll never be able to do this as well as you will want to, but that's fine. Nobody spends all their time as effectively as humanly possible. The degree to which you can tune your desire to the things you want and discipline yourself to do the things that lead to getting them - will determine how successful you will be.Regardless of how weak you are now, you can and will increase the value your time and activities and garner more happiness than you might think fair only if you'll keep your failures in perspective. Think of them as lessons and gain something from them. Use your successes as a well of strength on which you can draw when you're ready to quit.

These simple steps are the true secret to getting what you want out of life. It has been proven time and time again by great men down trough history, and centuries from now. The words may change, but the ideas will be the same. For centuries men have tried to find ways of making this simple set of guidelines more complicated and more difficult to understand and follow. Most of them succeeded admirably. Most got what they wanted by doing so. What they really wanted was less than they set out to achieve. Getting what you truly want is so difficult precisely because it is so simple. Humans are very complex beings and thrive on making things even more complicated.

It might help to remember that the foundation of every religion, belief, system and philosophy that has worked its way to a culture and taken root is personal happiness. In every case, happiness is achieved by reducing things to their simple possible elements.

May He give you the desire of your heart

You are really special to Me

I just realised that when people send you a message or simply forward one that they have received they must have scrolled and made the conscious decision on which contacts to click and which to skip. Receiving a message from them shows that they chose not to skip your name. It shows that you occupy a place in their hearts and not only in their phones. And that for a moment you were thought about positively and picked rather than skipped. That is one little gesture to be thankful for because so many may have been skipped because of broken friendship, irrelevance or even death. So for the many times you chose to forward or send a message to me I am grateful to God that we are both alive and well. I also appreciate you as a friend and thankful to God for having you to the end of 2016. May we continue to find a reason to pick and not skip one another in 2017. May the year end well for you.

Man OH Man

COPIED FROM KING'S COLLEGE OLD BOYS
WALL
Very inspiring piece!!!!
Man, O Man!
When without money, eats vegetables at home.
When he has money, eats the same vegetables
in a fine restaurant.
When without money, rides a bicycle to and from
home.
When he has money rides an 'exercise bicycle' at
the gym.
When without money, walks to earn food.
When he has money, walks to burn fat.
Man, O Man! Never fails to deceive thyself!
When without money, wishes to get married;
When he has money, wishes to get divorced.
When without money, wife becomes secretary;
When he has money, secretary becomes wife.
When without money, acts like a rich man.
When he has money acts like a poor man.
Man, O Man! Never can tell the simple truth!
Says share market is bad, but keeps speculating.
Says money is evil, but keeps accumulating.
Says high positions are lonely, but keeps wanting
them.
Says gambling & drinking is bad, but keeps
indulging.
Man, O Man! Never means what he says and
never says what he means..
Life is not about what you couldn't do so far, it's
about what you can still do.
N200 seems too much to give a beggar but it
seems okay when its given as tip at a fancy
restaurant.
Praying to God for 3 minutes
takes too much time but
watching a movie for 3 hours doesn't.
Two poor starving kids sitting on the pavement
weren't given even a slice of bread but a painting
of them is sold for hundred dollars.
Think about It..
Make a change, because you can ....
Here are six easy ways to earn, even after death.
1) Give a smile or gift to someone. Each time
you give a smile, it will make someone's day.
You gain.
2) Donate a wheelchair to a hospital. Each time
a sick person uses it, you gain.
3) Participate in building an orphanage, or a
hospital or a school or a college. Anybody uses
it, you gain.
4) Place a water cooler in a public place. When
someone drinks the water, you gain.
5) Plant a tree. Whenever a person, animal sits in
its shade or eats from it, you gain.
6) And the easiest of all is, share this message
with people. Even if one applies any of the
above, you gain.
I just did.

Deeper meaning embedded in the Christmas carol

STILL LSTILL LOADING FOR CHRISTMAS.. THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me - The Twelve Days of Christmas.

What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?

This week, I found out.

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.

It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

•  The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

•  Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

•  Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.

•  The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

•  The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old   Testament.

•  The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

•  Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

• The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

• Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

• The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.

• The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

• The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

This is your Christmas lesson for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening. more lessons to come

Glad you now know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol.
